Due to the improved design of the LSO-981, ITA-MED applied to Medicare requesting a higher reimbursement code.
Medicare has verified the design improvements and assigned the LSO-981 the higher HCPCS code of LO637 allowing for reimbursement of up to $1,000.
This Chair-Back Style Lumbo-Sacral Orthosis is an excellent bracing option for conservative back care. It is recommended by doctors to assist in the reduction of lordosis through general abdominal compression while providing back stability.
The LSO-981 has a rigid anterior panel and foam lined rigid posterior frame to help reduce a load on intervertebral discs while promoting recovery after serious back injury or surgery. With its new design, the LSO-981 has a super lightweight frame, removable plush soft foam liner, double-sided Velcro closures with six adjustable straps and three pair of metal attachment loops. The semi-rigid apron front now includes a pocket with a thermoplastic premolded insert.
